Rukinga Conservancy
Nestled alongside the Marungu Hills, Rukinga Wildlife Conservancy is a prime Acacia-Commiphora woodland habitat for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalos, and many other wild animal species. The Conservancy’s community programs are aimed at increasing access to sustainable income sources for local communities.
The 74,000-acre Rukinga Conservancy forms part of an important elephant corridor between Tsavo East and West National Parks. Our aim is to protect wildlife as well as increase alternative income sources and other additional community benefits. Conservation increases ecosystem resilience, and safeguards jobs which depend on the natural environment, such as farming and forestry. Natural areas and conservation activities also support jobs in tourism, preserve cultural heritage and recreation and health.
Activities at the Conservancy:
- Marungu Hill Hike (Easy, 4 hours): Enjoy a scenic hike with stunning views, just a short drive from camp.
- Mount Kasigau Hike (Challenging, 5-6 hours): Test your endurance with a more demanding hike on this majestic mountain.

- Sundowner at Lokidori Hill: Relax with drinks, snacks, and breathtaking 360-degree panoramas of the conservancy. (Extra charge, includes ranger guide)
