Greetings, fellow adventurers! Today, we’re thrilled to share our escapade featuring the Lovelies, a group of spirited young moms who dared to take a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Nairobi. Buckle up as we take you through our unforgettable journey to the Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort in Naivasha.

Day 1: The Journey Begins

The anticipation was palpable as we, the Lovelies, gathered in Nairobi, our car packed, and our spirits high. The sun had barely risen, yet the city buzzed with our excitement. Our WhatsApp group had been a flurry of planning and logistics, and now, it was finally time to hit the road.

Our convoy snaked out of the city, laughter and music filling the air. The first stop was the 'View Point' a spot that offered breathtaking panoramas of the Great Rift Valley. We couldn’t resist snapping a few photos, the vast landscape a perfect backdrop for our adventure.

"Can you believe we’re actually doing this?" Kanana beamed as we admired the scenery.

"Absolutely! It’s about time we had a break," Matarimo replied, her camera clicking away.

As we continued our journey, the lush greenery and rolling hills became our companions. The drive was punctuated with bursts of laughter and the occasional singing 'karaoke masters', transforming our car into a mini-concert hall. The Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort loomed closer, and the sight of the expansive property was awe-inspiring.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the serene ambiance of the resort, nestled amidst acres of pristine land. Our villa was everything we had hoped for—spacious, luxurious, and boasting stunning views. After a warm shower and a quick change, we gathered in the living room, ready to kick off our weekend.

The evening unfolded with a delicious dinner prepared by our chef, followed by a night of revelry in the wild. Armed with our curated playlist, we danced and sang by the fireplace, sharing stories and laughter that echoed through the villa. It was well past 3 AM when we finally retired to our rooms, hearts full and spirits high.

Day 2: Leisure and Laughter

Sleeping in was the order of the day, and it felt glorious. We awoke to the aroma of brunch wafting through the villa, courtesy of our ever-talented chef. Energized, we set out to explore the resort’s myriad activities.

First stop: the pool. The cool water was a welcome relief, and we splashed around like carefree children. By afternoon, we had tried our hand at various outdoor games, from volleyball to a rather competitive game of tag.

Returning to our villa, we decided it was game time. We’d come prepared with a stash of games—charades, Twister, card games, and of course, Truth or Dare. The hours flew by as we laughed until our sides hurt, each challenge more hilarious than the last.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we moved to the terrace, wine glasses in hand. The view was spectacular, the sky painted in hues of orange and pink. Below, we could see the park, and occasionally, an animal would wander into view.

“This is paradise,” Koi sighed contentedly, as we watched the sunset together.

Dinner was another feast, followed by an impromptu dance party. Our music and speaker setup turned the villa into a vibrant nightclub, proving that moms know how to have fun.

Day 3: Farewell, For Now

All too soon, it was time to pack up and head back to reality. As we loaded the cars, we reminisced about the incredible time we’d had. The journey back to Nairobi was slower, filled with reflective conversations and, of course, more music.

“I’m already missing the peace and quiet,” Sue said as we drove past the familiar landscapes.

“Me too. But we’ll be back. This is just the beginning,” Tess replied, a smile spreading across her face.

By the time we reached Nairobi, we were eager to reunite with our families, but we carried the joy and relaxation of the weekend with us. The Lovelies had found their perfect escape, and we knew it wouldn’t be our last adventure.
