Last year, Nancy celebrated her 26th birthday in the most unforgettable way, gathering her seven closest friends for an epic adventure at Twiga Lodge Campsite in Tiwi, Diani. The excitement was palpable as most of the crew hopped on the SGR from Nairobi to Shimba Hills for a night of bonding before the real party began. With camping gear in tow, they made their way to Tiwi, Kwale, using private means, ready to YOLO their way through the weekend.

Upon arriving at the beachfront campsite, the group sprang into action. While some pitched tents, others made a beeline to Diani, the closest shopping centre, for essential supplies—groceries and, of course, drinks. “Don’t forget the ice for the cooler!” someone shouted, sparking a chorus of laughter.

With the camp set up and provisions stocked, the party officially kicked off. They spent their days lounging by the ocean, soaking in the sun, and taking the five-minute walk to the mesmerizing African Pool. “This place is paradise,” one friend remarked as they waded through the crystal-clear waters.

As the sun began to set, the real fun started. They gathered around the campfire, drinks in hand, learning how to roast crabs. “Is this crab supposed to be on fire?” laughed one friend, causing an eruption of giggles. The night was filled with hilarious conversations, spontaneous dance-offs, and rounds of their favorite campfire games. “To Nancy!” they cheered, toasting the birthday girl who couldn’t stop smiling.

The nights around the campfire were nothing short of a summer music fest. With a phone and a Harman Kardon speaker, their makeshift DJ turned the beach into an epic bash. Music blared, and the group danced under the stars, creating a scene that could rival any festival. “Who needs a nightclub when you have this view?” someone shouted over the beats.

They fell asleep to the sound of waves crashing, only to wake up with epic hangovers, but it was all part of the fun. “Pass the painkillers,” groaned a friend, eliciting chuckles from the rest.

Despite the occasional hangover, mornings were a highlight as they witnessed breathtaking sunrises, the sky painted in vibrant colors. They relived the night’s adventures over breakfast, making plans for the day ahead. One morning, they even took a van from Ukunda to the campsite, singing along to their favorite tunes and creating more memories.

Nancy, living in Ukunda, was thrilled to have her friends from Nairobi join her for this special celebration. “This is the best birthday ever!” she exclaimed, and everyone agreed. The whole trip was a perfect blend of fun, laughter, and unforgettable moments, proving that you don’t need to break the bank to have the time of your life.

During the interview, Nancy shared, “I make sure my birthdays are celebrated in a special way, surrounded by my closest friends. I work hard to give myself the best in life, and this birthday was one of the most memorable ones. Living with these memories is what makes life truly special.”

As they packed up to leave, already feeling nostalgic, the group knew this was a birthday bash they’d remember forever. Celebrating at Twiga Lodge Campsite was more than just a party; it was a testament to their friendship and the joy of living in the moment.
